located in the Royal Alcazars of Seville — Royal palace — the baths are named after Lady Maria De Padilla who had been married to the king “Peter the cruel” Being married to a guy nick named “cruel” it seems the least that could be done for her

Supposedly Lady Maria De Padilla swam in the pool. The baths are rainwater tanks. I could easily imagine on a hot Seville day wanting to cool off in these pools
